I didn’t pick up the call, but after reading the other posts here and my mate getting the very same scam call a bit earlier today, glad I just left it ringin! Definitely some HMRC scam going round, sounds like they’re blasting out loads of calls. Both me and my friend are on Virgin Mobile, makes me wonder if there’s been some sort of leak of mobile numbers?

Did they really say “hit one to talk with a manager”? Seriously??? What kind of automated nonsense is that? It’s like they expect us to just follow a robot’s orders!

Got a missed call on my phone earlier and noticed the number was from Chichester. I don’t know anyone from there, so I decided to look it up here. Seems like one of those scam calls, pretty standard around lunchtime when people might be taking a break and less focused. Wish that was the case for me though! Definitely not a call I wanted, so blocking it straight away.

Got a call from someone saying they were HMRC, threatening legal trouble if I didn’t pay up. Definitely a scam trying to scare you into handing over money.

Got a dodgy call with some automated bloke pretending to be from HMRC, sounded American though. They said I had a legal notice coming through and told me to press one, but I reckon pressing that would have just hooked me onto some expensive £25 a minute number. Hung up right away and blocked it. Definitely didn’t press anything!
