I got a call from 01243077554, a landline, and this bloke with an Indian accent said he was from Sky. He claimed there was a problem with my internet and told me one of my home devices had downloaded some nasty software. He asked me to hook up my laptop to my router to fix it. Luckily, I was at work and told him I couldn’t do that right now. Then he said he’d ring back later on in the evening to sort it out. I’m planning to get in touch with Sky directly to confirm if this was legit because his English was hard to follow and it all sounded a bit dodgy.
