I received a call from a chap with an Indian accent who claimed to represent HMRC, insisting I owed tax and needed to pay up or face a fine. I’m absolutely certain that it’s a scam since HMRC never operates this way. I promptly hung up and have since blocked the number. They purport to be calling from Cheltenham, but I doubt their legitimacy one bit.
