01242 790213 calling from clc world resorts saying I’d won a £1000 holiday in Tenerife but had to go to a 90 minute pitch with no pressure to buy, yeah right. They also said I could get a free one night stay at a spa hotel in Cheltenham, just needed to put down a small refundable deposit. Do they really think we’re silly? I ended the call and then the same bloke tried ringing me back from a Southend number. Bit fishy if you ask me.

I signed up online thinking it was a secret shopper gig for Asda with a £100 voucher reward, just had to answer some questions - sounded dodgy so I said no! Then got a call from CLC World congratulating me. They asked to verify my email, combined income over £30k, age bracket, and marital status (felt like a soft credit check). They were offering a free week’s stay for 6 people either on the Costa del Sol or at the timeshare hub in Tenerife - you just had to cover flights. I declined, figured those schemes went bust ages ago. Definitely a no for me.

Honestly, I’ve got so fed up with cold calls now that I’m proper rude sometimes. The last PPI caller I got, I asked if he reckoned he’d called me before. He said yeah. So I asked him, if I really had PPI, why would I’ve spent years saying no every time he called up? What a muppet.
