I’m really fed up with these calls and I’ve decided I won’t pick up any more. I’m almost 72 and battling cancer, asthma, diabetes, and Barrett’s disease. I’m on 18 different meds already, so I don’t need this constant bother. It’s always some young lady ringing me.

Got a call from someone named Nicki claiming she’s from some energy company, saying they’re changing their direct debit rates and she can help get me a better deal. It’s totally automated - you can tell because she leaves long pauses and her responses sound like she’s just ticking off a script. This call’s been happening every week, but now I just put the phone down straight away.
