Got an automated call from this number earlier today. Didn’t get who they said they were, so had to do a bit of digging. Was something about a contested village hall music licence, which I’ve already complained about officially but still waiting on a reply from PPL PRS Ltd. Oriel’s aware of the situation. I’ve called it harassment before and it’s still going on. I refuse to sort this out on the phone because there’s no proof. Blocked the number.

Got calls from a scammer who tries using a local accent to sound legit. They keep ringing over and over. Pretty clear it’s a scam cause they never ask for anyone specifically or say what it’s about, just keep making it sound like it’s important right away.

Got a recorded call from some place called Oriel, said it was something urgent and gave a long reference number to ring back. Didn’t say much else and I don’t know them at all, so I just let it go. Had two calls so far from that number. They didn’t even say my name, so looks like they probably don’t have any of my details. Seems dodgy, probably just a scam.

I can confidently say this is absolutely a scam, especially since our music licence renewal isn’t approaching anytime soon. Oriel has never reached out to us in any form-no calls, no letters, not even an email. It strikes me as quite suspicious that any company would expect you to initiate contact without prior communication. It just doesn’t inspire trust, does it?

I called them back and they wanted a reference number first, then my postcode. Since I'm part of a few groups, I gave them the one I thought was most probable - a village hall with a music licence. Turns out he didn’t seem to recognise it and said it wasn’t the right one, which felt a bit off. Received a voicemail claiming they had made numerous attempts to get in touch about something rather significant. It appears that Oriel Collections has taken to contacting us repeatedly regarding a music licence. Each time they ring, they come up with various justifications for their calls, such as "private matter" or "sensitive inquiry," and the list seems to go on indefinitely. They are incessantly pursuing a payment for a radio licence, despite the fact that we don’t even play music in our premises. We’ve made numerous requests for them to send someone to evaluate our situation in person, yet they steadfastly refuse and simply declare that payment is non-negotiable, claiming there’s no need for a site visit. The frequency of their calls has now escalated to the point where it feels like harassment!
