They also wanted to know who else lives here and their bank. Definitely felt like a scam trying to get way too much private info.

Me and my partner are both retired and have disabilities. These calls have been coming nonstop, honestly, we've stopped trying to keep track. Usually, they just cut off before we even pick up. Once, I tried calling back but the connection was so bad it was hard to make out much, though I did hear something about PPI. I told them to take our number off their list - and just so you know, our number is ex-directory - but obviously they haven’t bothered to do so. These calls are really getting on our nerves.

Yesterday, I received a peculiar call on my mobile, supposedly inquiring if I'd managed to get a refund from my bank (I won't name it here). I was utterly baffled and quizzed them on what they were on about. They had the audacity to mention my name and phone number and claimed I had reached out to them via email back on the 5th of March 2014 around midday, requesting assistance. I was certain I'd never done such a thing, so I rummaged through my sent and received emails - and, surprise, surprise, found absolutely nothing. I’ve made it crystal clear to them that I don’t wish to be disturbed again. What really sets alarm bells ringing is that my mobile number is known only to a tiny handful of people. How on earth did they acquire such personal information?

picked up this number one time, but no one spoke, so i ended the call. since then i've got loads of calls from it, all ignored. looked up the number and it’s linked to supposed bank refunds for an account i’ve never had. apparently, they’ve been involved in other scams too, looks like they’re just hired scammers. definitely adding this to my block list. best to just avoid answering.

We recently got a call from a chap named JAMES. He was after my husband, whom I kindly pointed out is both visually impaired and slightly hard of hearing. JAMES mentioned something about us being eligible for a refund from Westminster Bank for payment protection insurance. My husband promptly informed him that we’ve never pursued such a claim and even provided him with the details for TSB instead. (That’s not our current bank, by the way.) It seems they’re sending paperwork for my husband to sign and return in the next few days, which is already completed. They plan to take a hefty cut of 33% plus VAT from any refund, and we might have to twiddle our thumbs for around 16 to 21 weeks before seeing any remaining money. I'm left pondering how they managed to acquire our name, address, and landline. It all reeks of a scam to me-or perhaps a "COLD CALL,” which I believed to be outlawed now. As his spouse, I'm feeling particularly wary about the whole affair.
