Called me thrice within an hour today. Whenever I picked up, there was no answer. On the fourth call, a bloke with a Liverpool accent said he was from "Rural Community Support." When I asked if it was a genuine organisation, he just hung up on me. You’d think BT could sort these annoying calls out, especially since they’re coming from within the UK.

Got a call at work from some bloke claiming he’s with the Energy Efficiency Company or something like that. Asked for the owner, I told him he’s away on holiday for a couple of weeks. Then he goes on to say I’m making it up because apparently businesses shut up shop when the boss is off (yeah, right). Said he’d ring back tomorrow since the owner will supposedly be around. Good luck with that mate, like I said, he’s on holiday! Plus, the guy was really rude and all up himself.

Some woman calling herself "Leah" claimed to be from the Rural Community Support Service. I pretended I couldn’t hear her properly and got her to say it again. When I asked for her phone number, she just said it was the one I’d ringed. Then I said I’d report her to the Telephone Preference Service, and she suddenly said “my name isn’t really Leah” before hanging up.

I’m quite concerned about a situation involving my 93-year-old mother-in-law.
