I had a rather suspicious phone call purportedly from BT Openreach, claiming there was an issue with my broadband connection. The caller had a strong Indian accent, a woman who kept calling me "ma'am". Having fallen prey to scams before, I promptly cut her off before she could say much more. Curiously, the number shown was a local one, 01239 623343, which is linked to the quaint town of Cardigan in Wales. When I tried to ring it back using my mobile, I was met with the response, “You have dialled an incorrect number.” Quite dodgy, I would say!
