Got two calls from this number within an hour - total scam attempt. I always have a whistle near my phone for moments like this. I mumble quietly at first, so they have to strain to hear or crank up their side’s volume. Then I blow the whistle loud right into the receiver, hang up quick, and grin to myself!

I got a call from someone claiming to be BT. They asked me for my phone number and name, then just hung up straight away. Definitely seems like a scam again!

So this number rang me after another one did, saying they were from BT - thing is, I’m not even a BT customer. I blocked that first one, and then this number called right away. When I answered, there was just weird heavy breathing before they hung up. Obviously, blocked again. Quite creepy really.

Twice in one hour I got calls from a woman with an Asian accent saying there was an issue with BT open zone in my area - something about the connection dropping and shutting off randomly. My internet has been acting up lately so I was a bit worried and she said I needed to reset my system while she talked me through it. I told her someone else here sorts out the internet, so she booked a callback for the next day. That delay actually helped me look into it further and I’ve since realised it’s definitely a scam.

Last week, this number rang an elderly family member, with a woman saying she was from BT and warning about service being disconnected. Funny enough, I was actually there on 21/1/19 when they called, so I grabbed the phone and called the bluff. Right after I started questioning them, the call ended abruptly. Got a call from someone saying they were with BT, asking about my router info. I told him I didn’t think he was telling the truth, and then the call just cut off. I've reported it to Action Fraud now.

Got a call from someone saying they were with BT Openreach, but it felt like a scam. They asked about the number of lights on my router and said hackers might mess with it by putting some software on. They said it could make the internet really slow. As far as I know, Openreach never phones customers like that. Be careful!

Some bloke rang up saying there was a problem with my internet and asked me to unplug everything from the network. I got a weird feeling about it and just ended the call straight away. Then he rang back again and started being really nasty, so I cut him off again. Afterwards, I contacted my provider just to check and they confirmed it was a scam. Couldn't really make out what he was saying properly so I just hung up. Thing is, I’m ex-directory and on the TPS list, so how on earth did they get through to me? Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call this morning at about 10:15 from a guy with an Asian accent, claiming there was an issue with my BT Internet. Funny thing is, I’d also had a call yesterday from 012274418613 saying they were with BT Openreach. I rang BT themselves to check and they said these calls are actually coming from overseas but routed through UK numbers that scammers have bought. Apparently, there’s not much that can be done about it! They even said there’s like 40 different numbers they use to try and scam folk. I’ve gone ahead and blocked all those numbers now.

I answered but no one spoke, then after a few moments, an automated message said goodbye. Seems like a dodgy caller, probably someone else reacting quicker than me before. They keep ringing me every morning at about the same hour. If I do catch them, I just put the call on speaker without saying anything and enjoy hearing them struggle to get a response.

Got a call from someone pretending to be from "BT Openreach" saying there was an issue with my internet. They wanted me to type in commands on my PC so they could sort it. Then they tried to get me to visit a site that gave them access to my computer, hoping to grab passwords, contacts, or bank info. Don’t fall for it! I mucked about with them a bit, then told them I knew what they were up to and asked some direct questions about their so-called job. It was quite entertaining!
