I got a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, telling me my PC was infected with a virus. They said if I didn't follow their steps right away, my account would be shut down. The guy sounded pushy and a bit brusque. Definitely don’t fall for it!

Had a bloke call me with an American accent claiming he was calling on behalf of Microsoft. I hung up before he could say a word. This is actually the third time I've received a call from this same number this week, but it’s the first time I picked up. Pretty clear to me it’s a scam...

Got a call this morning at about 8:21 from a woman with a really strong Indian accent. When I picked up and said hello, she claimed she was calling on behalf of Microsoft. I quickly told her I wasn’t interested and she just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from some bloke claiming he was from Microsoft. I told him right away it was a scam, but he got really annoyed and insisted it wasn’t. I just told him bye and ended the call.

Got a cheeky call from some call centre overseas, trying to pass off as tech support from Microsoft. "Your PC’s infected... we can fix it... etc, etc." I kept them hanging on the line for a solid six minutes before admitting I knew it was a con and had been messing about. Laughable really. They didn’t take it well at all, started calling me an idiot. This is the second runaround we’ve given them today. If they won’t stop ringing our IT department, we’ll just keep playing this game.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Microsoft, telling me my PC was hacked. I told him we have four computers here, so which one exactly? He insisted all four were affected. When I said I wasn’t going to use the computer and kept asking him to tell me my family name, he started getting really pushy. I just hung up. Then, moments later, he rang back and was shouting down the line, asking why I’d ended the call. I told him I’d looked up the number online and knew it was a scam. He yelled back that he wasn’t a scammer and threatened to block all our devices. Total con job.

I got a call from someone saying they were from Microsoft or something like that. Right away I knew it was some dodgy scam but I just let the bloke go on for a bit. Then I asked if he actually got paid for doing these scam calls, and he got all defensive saying it wasn’t a scam. I told him "yeah it is, so piss off" and put the phone down. A few hours later the same number popped up again, I called him out straight away and he just hung up. Honestly, these scammers just want to trap someone who might give away their personal info. Don’t fall for it!

As soon as I mentioned that I was aware of their little scheme, those cheeky tech miscreants promptly ended the call.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying he was with Microsoft and there was something wrong with my PC. I told him I'd grab my husband since he’s better with these things and the call just stopped. Pretty sure it was a phishing attempt!

I got a call from a woman with a thick Indian accent who, oddly, claimed to have the exact same name as me. She said something about my Windows PC. I told her I don’t even own a Windows machine. She sounded shocked and said, "But our files say you do." When I repeated that I don’t, she just ended the call. Guess I’ll be on the lookout in case they try to chat about my Mac next! ;-)

Got a call from a lady who sounded Asian, claiming she was from Microsoft. She said there was a virus on my computer and asked to get remote access. I played along for a bit, then told her I was putting the police on the line and tracking her number. Straight after that, she just hung up. Definitely a scam, so don’t answer if you see this number pop up. Just hang up and block it!

Got a call out of the blue today, 03/09/2016, from a number that was on the do-not-call list. The caller said they were from Microsoft and tried to tell me there was an issue with my computer - something I never even noticed or mentioned. Felt like a total scam.
