On Saturday, I received a few calls from him. When I suggested he should speak to his supervisor, he got rather annoyed.

I received a call from a rather overly insistent individual who asserted he was from a debt collection agency. He was adamant about talking to me regarding some supposed debt that I supposedly owed. Absolute balderdash! I don’t have any outstanding debts whatsoever. It’s evident this was a con!

This caller claimed to be part of some investigation agency, saying the government planned to erase 70% of your debts! I knew straight away it was dodgy and a total scam.

They keep ringing from loads of different numbers, all linked to some dodgy debt management scam, like 0115 647 8114, 0113 519 1160, and 0131 381 2237 to name a few. I’ve tried being nice and telling them to stop calling me since I’m not interested, but they just hang up without a word. My best advice? Block each one straight away and create a contact on your phone called something like ‘debt management scam.’ Every time a new number comes up from them, just add it to that same contact so you can keep track of all their fake numbers in one place. Best of luck dealing with these pests!

I keep getting loads of calls on my mobile about debts I've supposedly got. Thing is, I don’t owe anything at all. They’re asking about massive debts, but it’s just not me. I've been getting loads of calls over the past fortnight from UK Debt Line about supposedly missing payments. BEWARE OF SCAMS! If you get scammed, make sure to report it straight to the police fraud system. Just search for ‘action fraud’ on Google and go to the ‘police.uk’ website. On there, find the ‘report phishing’ section and carefully read all the info before filling out the form. Give as many details as you can, like links or website addresses, in the text box. You don’t need to register, and they won’t ask for personal info unless you actually lost money. The only way for the police to track these scams is if everyone reports every suspicious call or message. Don’t ignore it!
