I tried reaching out to 0141 285 4610, the number that ought to serve all of Central Scotland. Regrettably, it seems HMRC is a bit short-staffed, which explains the lacklustre responses.

Indeed, we're trying to get in touch with them regarding "a payment reminder", even though I've settled the bill punctually. The number seems to be perpetually engaged or never picks up, despite me calling and leaving it ringing for a good five minutes. I'm not exaggerating! They did pick up once but hung up on us straight away. Appreciate your help! Cheers!

Trying to get through to HMRC on this number is utterly frustrating when you need to ask about your corporation tax. It just perpetually searches for a call-back and no one ever seems to pick up!

This number is perpetually busy. I’ve tried reaching out multiple times, but it just keeps ringing or going to voicemail. I've even contacted different lines only to be advised to persist with this one; apparently, if you keep trying, you might eventually get a response.

I found this number constantly busy. After a while, I managed to get through, but it just kept ringing without an answer. I reached out to other departments, and all they suggested was to keep trying the number, as eventually, I might manage to connect.

I rang up this number and ended up being on the phone for ages, only to find a bill for £16.00 waiting for me! It's quite appalling that HMRC seems to foot the bill for these phone lines...
