7 yearsI've received a couple of calls from this number claiming to be representatives from Microsoft, insisting that my computer had been compromised. When I mentioned I wouldn’t be powering on my device for him, he got rather cheeky and retorted, “How are you going to fix it without switching it on?” When I jokingly mentioned that he might actually be the hacker, he promptly ended the call. Quite telling, wouldn't you agree? Be wary, folks! Don’t let yourselves be taken in!Microsoft8 yearsSomebody rang me saying they were from Waitrose and wanted to fix my computer problems. I just told them to find a proper job and actually do something that helps people.Waitrose8 yearsI just let the call go to voicemail and later looked up the number. Poor thing, she was quite gullible and thought he was affiliated with Microsoft, as he asserted. He convinced her to download something called 'helpdesk' from the internet, which she did without a second thought. Now, our computer is completely knackered and won't even turn on. This morning, he rang again, insisting we fork out £10 to get the computer working again. I've already alerted the Police and reported it to Action Fraud. It’s a right scam! Someone rang me up claiming to be from Microsoft, insisting that my computer had been compromised. When I pressed for their contact number, the cheeky blighter provided the genuine Microsoft number, but it was completely different from the one he called me from - this very one I've reported!
