I’ve encountered a mortgage review firm that seems to be flouting the Data Protection Act by mishandling my personal information. They haven’t bothered to verify the Telephone Preference Service before ringing me up, and they keep hounding me for a chat. If you find yourself in the same boat, let them know you’re registered with the TPS. Had this mortgage review firm ring me up even though I’ve signed up to the Telephone Preference Service. They seem to just ignore it completely and keep hassling you to have a chat. I told them straight away I’m on the TPS, but they didn’t seem bothered. If they bother you as well, definitely make a complaint to OFCOM here: http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/complain/phone-and-broadband-complaints/privacy/. They’re supposed to respect these rules but obviously don’t!
