I was prompted to verify several security details, but I made it clear that I prefer not to talk about such sensitive information over the phone. After that, they just cut the line. Just a heads-up for everyone!

I received a call from someone purporting to be from the Bank of Scotland, yet they couldn't provide any of my personal information or even my name. Oddly enough, there were no security questions posed. Instead, they immediately requested my full card number to supposedly verify a “debt” I supposedly owe. It's quite amusing really, as I'm completely debt-free-no overdraft or anything of the sort! To ensure it's not another scam, I called the official number on the back of my card, and they reassured me that the number that contacted me wasn't theirs at all.

This number rang both my home phone and my mobile but failed to leave any message. I'm not familiar with it at all. Interestingly, I've received calls from other numbers that are quite similar, with only the last three digits being different, and they, too, neglected to drop a message. Quite perplexing!
