I got a call from someone pretending to be BT Tech Support, saying my internet was being messed with by suspicious IPs. They actually knew both my landline and mobile number, and they even sent a text with a “verification” code to my phone. When I asked them to prove who they were, they just ended the call. I’m pretty sure if I’d stayed on, they’d have pushed me to let them remotely control my computer.
