I block numbers all the time but it doesn’t seem to stop these dodgy calls! Today I got one from what looked like a number in Abingdon, Berkshire. It was one of those taped messages claiming to be from my bank’s MasterCard department, warning me about a suspicious £600 withdrawal. Bit odd really as I don’t even have a MasterCard! Funny that this is the second time I’ve had a call like this, both times mentioning exactly £600. Banks and card companies wouldn’t use recorded calls for something that sensitive - it’s definitely a scam.
