This morning I got a call from a woman who sounded Indian, but there was loads of crackling and background noise. She was rambling on about my internet. Naturally, I told her I didn’t have any broadband (even though I do) and cheekily said maybe scammers like her should actually check before ringing people. Oddly enough, she called back again! I was about to leave, otherwise I might have kept her talking to waste her time - I often do that so someone else doesn’t end up annoyed. I figured this sort of scam had died out, but surprise, I've had about five of these calls just this week.

Got a call from an Asian lady saying my BT internet was about to be disconnected. I just told her, "That’s not likely!" and she instantly ended the call. I’m curious what made her hang up so quickly?

Just like many others, this bloke said he was with BT, but when I asked him what proof he had, he got really rude and then just slammed the phone down.

This number rang me earlier, but luckily my phone has a call blocker, so it never even rang properly. I spotted the digits on my screen and figured I’d look it up to see if it was anything important. Of course, it wasn’t. Honestly, investing in one of those call blocker phones is worth it, really saved me from a load of hassle!

I picked up and they just cut me off. I’ve got a couple of replies I use for these calls. One is to say, funny enough, I’m a BT IT engineer - can I speak with your manager about this? Another one’s, sorry, the boss isn’t here, can I get a message please? Sometimes I just put on a doddery old bloke’s voice and go, Eh? over and over.

I honestly can’t figure out how some bloke named James, who had a really thick Asian accent, managed to claim he’d cut off my BT internet - something I’ve never even had in the first place! After messing around with him for about 20 minutes, he just hung up. I reckon he clocked on when I asked if pulling more cable through the wall might sort things out. What a waste of time!

Some bloke with a really thick Indian or Asian accent kept going on about my internet getting cut off for a month. I told him straight up it sounded dodgy but he just kept insisting it wasn’t a scam. Kept saying “no no no!” over and over. In the end, I just told him to bugger off!

Got calls on my work phone, supposedly from BT Internet. This has been going on for weeks. The caller keeps saying they’re ringing to warn me that my BT internet will be disconnected if I don’t pay up. I told them straight, “You’re having a laugh, not from BT at all.” They tried to argue, saying “But BT owns all internet connections.” After a bit of back and forth with some tech jargon from me, they just hung up. Don’t fall for it, folks! Just ignore and block them!

I got a call like this on my landline. When the person started speaking, I told them I was with the police and requested their full name, company, and address. After that, they quickly ended the call. I checked by dialling 1471 and saw they’d even left their number behind.

I got a call from a lady who spoke with a really thick Asian accent, saying something about my BT broadband. Since I’m not a BT customer, I just hung up straight away before it got any weirder. Felt like it could’ve been more than just a nuisance, honestly.

Was in the middle of a bath when this number rang, so I missed it. Decided to check 1471 and saw it was from the same area code I've seen before. They keep ringing, always claiming to be from BT but it’s obviously dodgy. They must be switching numbers all the time, total scammers.

I received a call from someone with a foreign accent, seemingly from a sizable office. I waited on the line, but eventually, the call was terminated without a word.

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT, warning me our internet was gonna be cut off because of some issue. I was pretty sure it was a scam, so I asked them to give me my account number - they obviously couldn't. We ended up in a bit of a back and forth and then they just hung up on me. Really worrying how easily people who aren’t so tech savvy could fall for this sort of thing.

First, a bloke called saying he was from the BT tech team, then a lady did the same. They both said they'd have to suspend my broadband for 60 days. When I told them I needed to ring BT proper to double check, they just hung up on me.

Got a call about half past twelve today from a bloke with an asian accent saying he was calling from BT Telecom. I just ended the call right away since I don't deal with BT at all. Pretty obvious it was a dodgy scam looking for money.

Just like many others here, I got a call from a guy with an accent claiming to be from BT internet. I told him straight away to stop wasting my time and hung up. I had some issues before but fixed them myself without any of his so-called assistance. Seriously, what is the TPS actually doing about these annoying callers???

Got a call from 01235478965 the other day, threatening to cut off my broadband. Then today, they rang again and left a voicemail saying goodbye. Honestly, these calls feel really intimidating and it's quite unsettling. Is there no way to put an end to this?

Got a call from 01235425487 about 10:30 this morning. A woman with an Indian accent claimed to be from BT tech support, saying our internet was getting hacked and would be shut off permanently in a few hours if I didn’t follow some steps she was trying to explain. Instantly knew it was dodgy and ended the call. Totally a scam, those lot are well dodgy. Bloody irritating!

Just like a bunch of others said, got a dodgy call claiming to be from BT internet. I usually try to keep the convo going for ages and then ask where they’re calling from. They mentioned a proper BT office in Newgate, London, but couldn’t answer anything about the place at all. Total scam if you ask me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT about my internet. I said I’d just turn on my PC and asked him to hang on. After a good 10 minutes I just told him to get lost. Figured while he’s waiting, he’s not out there trying to rip off anyone else.

I had a missed call from this number but my call blocker stopped it from ringing. The area code shows it’s from Abingdon, Oxfordshire. Judging by what others are saying, it seems like this number is dodgy and should be blocked properly soon, so people who aren’t careful don’t get caught out by whatever scam they’re running.

Got a call from 01235 425487, some guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT, talking about my internet. I don’t even have BT for internet so it was obviously a scam. Plus, he kept saying “ok” after every sentence which was super suspicious. I’ve already blocked the number.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT’s “technical team,” saying they might cut off our broadband and internet because my laptop was showing some error messages. You’d think they’d actually be able to tell which device was causing the problem if they had any real details. When I asked what they planned to do to fix it, they just dropped the call. Not really reassuring, especially for someone who isn’t tech-savvy!
