Got a call saying there was some suspicious activity on my bank account and that someone tried to take out £900. They then wanted me to verify my bank details. I calmly told them where they could stick it and said I’d be speaking to my bank about it right away. They just ended the call after that. Just a heads up, watch out for calls from this number (01235372077).

I keep getting calls from this number and a few similar ones, each time with a new story. One time it’s about helping council tenants with home repairs, another an automated voice saying I’m under investigation for tax fraud supposedly from the tax office. Most recent was some bloke with an Asian accent saying he’s from the citizens advice bureau. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

This caller purported to be from the council's housing disrepair department, but my home isn't a council property, which clearly indicates it’s a scam. They've been ringing from several different numbers - I've already had to block at least five of them!

I received a rather alarming call today, supposedly from a chap named Richard Harper, who claimed to represent HMRC. He insisted that I had an unpaid tax bill and went on to warn me about potential legal action should I choose to disregard their claims. Quite distressing, to say the least, and clearly a fraudulent call.

I got a call from 01235 372077 saying they were ringing on behalf of council tenants who'd been ignored about repairs. They claimed they'd assist with maintenance problems that the council hadn’t sorted. I told them straight up that I’ve owned my own homes since I was 22 - that’s about 36 years now - so I've never been a council tenant. Honestly, I found their attempt to fish for personal info quite nasty and a proper invasion.

I got a call from someone named Richard Harper who said I owed about £6000 in unpaid tax to HMRC. He told me if I didn't sort it immediately, it’d end up in the newspapers and I could even face jail time. He also mentioned that this was way above HMRC’s level, so trying to speak to them wouldn’t help at all. Definitely sounded dodgy to me.
