5 yearsGot a call supposedly from the tax office, but they already had my full name, address and postcode. They said they weren’t allowed to ask me any security questions, which seemed weird. Then they asked for my email. They mentioned a tax refund and offered to send it by bank transfer or cheque. When I picked cheque, they asked for the bank details from their letterhead?! I told them if it was a con they could whistle, and if it was legit I’d hear from them later in writing. Sounded real enough but I’m certain it’s dodgy. Stay alert everyone!5 yearsJust got a call from someone called Kevin saying he's from HMRC, asking if I’m up to date with my tax and insurance. I told him he should already know that if he’s from HMRC, and when I asked which office he was actually calling from, he just ended the call.
