Got a call from a man with an Asian accent claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service. He asked if I was still getting annoying calls and I said yes. Then he wanted me to verify my name and address, which he'd already told me, plus confirm that I pay my phone bill by direct debit. Next, he asked when my debit card expires. That’s when I figured something was off because TPS wouldn’t ask for that kind of info, so I just ended the call. Right after, he said if I didn’t give the card expiry, I’d be removed from the TPS list. Didn’t wait around and hung up straight away.

I had quite the peculiar phone call today! A woman with a distinctly English name but an extremely pronounced Asian accent rang me up. She managed to convey, albeit with some effort, that she was affiliated with TPS. When she probed about unsolicited sales calls, I lamented that they were piling up. In response, she claimed she could assist in putting a stop to them. However, I wasn’t about to entertain it any longer. I exclaimed something along the lines of, "Blimey, this is a first! Kindly be off with you," and promptly hung up. After that, I dialled 1471 to trace the number. Quite the unexpected interlude!

Got a call from an Asian bloke, but I could barely make out what he was saying. He claimed to be from TPS or something like that. Got a call from a bloke who kept butchering my last name, not once but twice. When I asked who he was after apologising, he just ignored me. Then he messed up my surname again, so I told him to give it a rest and asked who he really was, and then he just hung up on me. Had another call earlier from someone claiming to be with the TPS, but I told them they clearly weren't, since I’m on their list and wouldn’t get nagged by them. had a call from a guy with a thick Indian accent claiming he was from tps, loads of noise in the background too. he said from tomorrow i wouldn’t get any more nuisance calls. i told him, but you’re calling me now? he didn’t seem to get it. then he dropped my name and asked to verify my address. i told him i never gave my address to tps and it’s not something they ask for anyway, which made it seem like he was working from a bought list. weirdly, he just ended the call right after that.

Got a call earlier from someone saying they were from the TPS. Then he put me through to a "supervisor" who wanted me to confirm the expiry date on my debit card. That’s when I got really wary and ended the call. I've told my bank about it, and they reckon these scammers will keep ringing trying to piece together your card info bit by bit until they have everything. So watch out for this kind of scam!
