This caller rang me up saying I’d failed to pay my contract and the only way to sort it was to upgrade, which would close the old contract and stop legal action. They asked for my credit card details to confirm the order and told me to get a PAC code and tell them straight away. It was blatantly a scam!!

Got a call from a young lady pushing a new phone deal, saying if I bought today, it’d be delivered by morning. Yeah, sure! I told her I was busy working and asked for her card info so I could bill her for my time. She hung up pretty quickly after that :-)

I told them the person they're tryin to reach had just passed away, then they asked if I was family just so they could ask some daft question! So far I’ve been mistaken for the police, fraud squad, CID, even confessed to killing my partner and asked if they could help me hide the body, called from a naval base, and loads more. They won’t stop ringing, even when I put the phone next to the smoke alarm and set it off!

The best trick I’ve found for dealing with those so-called Benefits UK and other random telemarketers is to tell them they’ve reached a top-secret military line and that their call has triggered a serious security alert. Let them know they’ll be tracked down and face prosecution, with at least a 10 year sentence. It’s hilarious how quick they hang up and never ring back after that.

Got a call from this number asking for my dad by name (he’s been gone for 5 years now). When I asked what it was regarding, they said something about a recent claim. I told the person they were daft and got shouted at in return. Just last week, the same number called pretending to be from Microsoft and when I called them out as a fraud, got a load of abuse too. After I hung up, they rang straight back asking why I’d ended the call.

I get ringing like 2 or 3 times every day, and they never seem to know my name properly, so i just say that they got the wrong place. When I asked who it was, the bloke said he was from benefits uk or something like that. I instantly knew it was dodgy since I don’t claim any benefits. Proper pain in the neck.
