I've had these annoying calls more than half a dozen times now - just complete wastes of time.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Calgary, Canada, but they never said what company they were with. They asked me about “how we go about pricing construction projects.” I didn’t want to give anything away ’cause I had a feeling they were just trying to push some pointless estimating service that probably wouldn’t even be accurate. Definitely dodged a bullet there.

Got a call from someone asking if we handle construction jobs, and since we’re builders, obviously yes. Then he wanted to know what method we use to estimate our costs. I asked him where he was ringing from and he said Calgary, Canada. Instantly, I figured he’s one of those pointless estimating firms who quote prices for builders but couldn’t care less when the firm ends up losing money on the project because the estimates are way off. Such a waste of time.
