8 monthsJust to follow up on what I said earlier, I got in touch with Bedfordshire police through 101 and they told me that although the number is genuinely theirs, there have been reports of scammers faking it. They also checked the crime reference and badge numbers I was given and said they’re completely bogus and don’t match anyone at their station. They said they’re taking the matter seriously and investigating it. SO IF YOU GET A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER: IT’S THE REAL POLICE NUMBER BUT SCAMMERS CAN PRETEND TO BE THEM!Bedfordshire9 monthsGot a call from someone claiming to be the police, saying there'd been data leaks and trying to sound legit. They actually knew about some old leaks straight away which was weirdly convincing. But then they started asking about my other crypto wallets, which felt dodgy, so I wasn’t having it. As soon as I got suspicious, they just cut the call quick. Definitely felt like a proper scam.9 monthsTheyre using data from old leaks to pretend theyre genuine police officers in a phishing scam.
