I'm pretty sure these lot are the ones who wiped out nearly £700 from my elderly parents' account, with the money going to some account in France. Thankfully, Yorkshire Bank spotted it and we've managed to freeze the card. Don't ever share your bank info with these scammers, and just ignore their calls if you don't want any hassle.

Got a call from a guy named Peter Barker, sounded like the usual scam. I didn’t give any credit card info, and as soon as I said he was lying, he just hung up. How are these people allowed to get away with it? Does anyone have any idea how they can be taken to court or something??

I received a rather alarming phone call this morning from a firm identifying itself as Call Prevention Services. They claimed to be collaborating with the Telephone Preference Service and the UK government in an effort to combat nuisance calls. Strangely, they already had access to my full name, home address, and even the expiry date on my bank card. When they pressed me for additional banking information, I firmly refused to provide anything further. The individual, who claimed to be called Peter Wilson and introduced himself as a supervisor, was quite insistent and seemed determined to get what he wanted. It’s crucial for everyone, especially our elderly population, to remain vigilant if they receive such calls, as these scams often target the most vulnerable among us.

Got a call from someone claiming they could stop all my annoying calls. After a bit, they asked for my visa card info and wanted £29 a year. Definitely a scam, no thanks.

My old mum kept getting these annoying calls, and the caller gave the name Peter Wilson. They promised they'd stop bothering her but somehow managed to get hold of her bank card info and ended up taking £125 from her account before the bank could block it. Absolute scammers, thieves, whatever you want to call them. Seriously, never hand over your details to these scumbags.

Some bloke called me, said his name was Jason and he had a really strong Indian accent. He claimed to be ringing from the telephone preference centre and wanted to find out when my debit card was due to expire, including the year. I asked him for a contact number to ring back on, and he gave me one. But when I looked up that number, I found this website. Seems like a total scam to me.

I’ve just found out that this is the helpline for CPS (Call Prevention Service) to put an end to those pesky nuisance calls on your landline. A heartfelt thanks to Jason for introducing me to this fantastic service-it’s been a real lifesaver! Honestly, it’s so much more effective than TPS.
