Just received a rather dubious phone call about a quarter of an hour ago from someone claiming to be a technician with BT. This chap was prattling on about enhancing my internet speed and seemed keen to tinker with my router settings. The thing is, I've never even been a BT customer, so I quickly figured he was likely just another scammer. I've since blocked the number.

Was a total scam, definitely a fraudster trying to pull a fast one. Dodgy behaviour all round, so I just blocked the number straight away.

this woman with an indian accent said she was calling about my internet from “bt”, but when i told her i dont have bt, she kept insisting i did and listed a bunch of different phone and internet companies. then when i said i’m with virgin media and they use their own network, she just hung up. definitely one of those scams trying to hack into your computer and steal your info.

Someone rang saying they were from BT. I kinda suspected it was dodgy so I played along just to see where it was going. They got me to test my internet speed and then wanted me to press the Windows Key + R to open a run box, which I reckon was to get control of my PC. When I asked them for my BT account number to prove it was them, they quickly ended the call.

My mum got a call from a girl claiming to be from BT about our internet. But as soon as mum asked me about the call, the girl just ended it straight away.

Some woman with a funny accent called me, claimed there was an issue with my internet after switching from 4G to 5G. I just ended the call straight away.
