Got a call from someone claiming to be Openreach, warning me that if I didn’t carry out some checks, they'd disconnect me. When I asked a few questions, he threw out my account number, which honestly didn’t convince me at all. Then out of the blue, he said he was actually ringing from TalkTalk! At least he seems sure where he’s supposed to be calling from!

For the last three days, I’ve been getting around six or seven calls daily from 01234578965. I never pick up, but I can hear them on the line and they just hang up without leaving a voicemail. I reported it to the police as harassment, but they said I should contact my phone company instead. Following their suggestion, I’ve been entering a code when the next annoying call comes through, which should block the number. Hopefully, this will allow my provider to track down where these scammers are based. Fingers crossed this info helps others dealing with the same thing.
