I picked up this call thinking it was from Bedford since I’m familiar with that area code. The person on the other end sounded pretty much like what others here have described, though I swear he mentioned Sky instead of O2. I left my phone on speaker across the room and kept telling him the line was awful and to talk louder. I was trying to keep him going to waste his time, but unfortunately he gave up and hung up after barely a minute, probably off to bother another unsuspecting person.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from 02 offering me a 30% discount. Told him I’m already with 02 and happy with my current deal. He kept pushing and said he’d text me a 6 digit code to put in my phone to prove he was legit. Smelt like a scam to me, so I just ended the call. He rang me another five times from different numbers, so I ended up switching my phone off. I’m signed up with TPS too, so this was pretty annoying.

Not sure who it was, but it came up as a silent call. My go-to move with weird numbers is: one, don’t pick up at all; two, look them up here and mark as spam if it looks dodgy; three, block the number straight away. I block any number if the area code isn’t familiar or if I don’t know anyone from that region.

Got a call from some Asian guy claiming to be from Currys PC World. The line had that typical lag before anyone spoke - classic sign it's a scam. Definitely not genuine.

Someone tried to get into my O2 account, and weirdly they knew my name and email as well. Total scam.

I was already talking on the phone when this number came up, and since I live nearby, it went straight to voicemail as soon as I ended my previous call. There were strange weird noises and it almost sounded like they were mumbling. I looked the number up here and it’s definitely a scam. Really annoying how these scammers always find a way to mess up my day. Such crooks!

Got a call from someone saying they were from Carphone Warehouse. There was that typical noisy background like you hear in call centres. They kept going on about hooking me up with a special deal only for me or something.

Got a call from some guy with an Indian accent claiming he was ringing from PC World to chat about their deals. Honestly, I had to ask him to say it over like four times cos I couldn't catch what he was saying at first. Pretty sure it was just a spam call!

Just got a missed call from 01234 416206 about 5 minutes back but I didn’t pick up. Later checked voicemail and it was silent, no idea what that was about. Really fed up having to waste time figuring out who these people are. Feels like some sort of online bullying to me.

No doubt it’s a total scam, they claim your account’s been compromised. Just hang up and add the number to your block list. Don’t even think about picking up.

Got a call from someone with an accent I didn’t expect. They were going on about giving me 33% off my O2 deal or something. Problem is, I’m not even with O2! Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.

When I picked up, there was a weirdly long silence followed by loads of noise in the background. After a bit, a bloke with an Indian accent said he was ringing about job opportunities at PC World, but then he suddenly switched to saying it was some free upgrade offer - seemed like he was muddling through his scam lines or something.

So this number rang me but as soon as I picked up, they just hung up straight away. When I tried to call back, it said it didn’t accept incoming calls or something. Honestly, super strange. I’d say it’s best to just ignore it and not pick up if they ring you!

There was a really awkward silence when I picked up. The caller said something about being with Carphone Warehouse, but the English was really poor and had an Indian accent. Definitely came across as a call centre person.
