Got a bunch of these calls again today. Being on the TPS list doesn’t seem to stop them cos they’re all from call centres in India. Check out Jim Browning’s YouTube channel, he’s proper good at exposing these scammers. I can’t get my head around the Indian government - they don’t seem to care at all. Now, nobody trusts Asian accents on the phone for legit call centres or help desks, whether it’s in the UK or anywhere else. It’s daft, really.

This number has called me a bunch of times. Usually, I just ignore it, but I decided to answer and ask them to stop bothering me and erase my info from their system. Things got heated and we both ended up raising our voices. He said he wasn’t going to remove my info since he wasn’t obliged to. After that, he just ended the call. I’m pretty sure they’ll keep ringing unless I block them myself.

My mum died about a week ago and I was at the house today trying to sort some stuff out. Even after I told the woman on the phone that my mum had passed, she kept asking questions like nothing had happened. I completely lost it and asked to talk to a manager, but she just hung up on me. Some foreign scammer who keeps ringing non stop. When my dad picks up, he happily chats and answers loads of questions, but since he’s got dementia, he ends up getting completely muddled and doesn’t reveal anything. These lot rang us claiming to be UK Target Services doing a survey. When I mentioned we’re on the Telephone Preference Service, they told me that doesn’t count for surveys. I raised my voice, saying I thought it did and asked them not to call again. Then the bloke on the other end started shouting right back, proper full on yelling! Next time they ring, I’m just gonna pick up and then hang up straight away. At least they’ll be paying for the call - might as well try to hit them where it hurts!

Got a call at 14.19 today, the person asked for me by name. I said, “who’s this and what’s it about?” They went, “Are you Mr??” Again, I asked who they were and what’s the deal, then they just cut off. Bit worried this might be one of those scams where they wait for you to say YES and then steal your voice or something. Honestly, I’m fed up with all these random cold calls and scammers.

I got a couple of calls from this number today-first one came through around quarter to one, and then the next one was about twenty minutes ago. Each time I picked up and greeted them, but there was nobody on the other end. After I repeated myself, they just disconnected. I can assure you, the next time they try, I won’t be so accommodating!

I’ve reached out to the Market Research Society and they told me this lot aren’t legit. I’ve also reported them to the ICO. Don’t give these people any info. Just ignore if you can, block them and keep reporting to the ICO every time they call.

Every time I get those irritating calls I just don’t answer, instead I hold my phone close to the TV speaker if it’s on and let it play for a while. I reckon blasting a referee’s whistle down the line works well too. It might not stop the calls but at least it feels good to mess with them a bit.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be 'Jen', sounded like she wasnt from the UK. The number showed up as a fake UK number linked to something called 'UK Society'. She asked if I could answer some quick questions. I reckon it’s one of those South Asian scam places that also use names like ‘UK Preference’ or ‘United Kingdom Preference’. They always do the same thing. Better to just block them.

Got a call from this number earlier today. Some Asian guy wanted to speak to ‘the man of the house.’ I just ended the call right away and used 1471 to check the number. Don’t get caught out. It shows a Bedford code, but there’s no way he was actually calling from there, so it’s clearly a scam - no need to fake your number if you’re legit.

You should really try getting one of those call blockers. Just search for 'CPR call blocker' online and you’ll come across their site. They’re around £40, and honestly, it’s one of the smartest purchases I’ve made. Hope this helps!

This number is really quite bothersome! I've picked up twice, and both times a rather rude gentleman has been on the other end. The initial call was meant to be a brief survey, which I didn't mind at first, but instead of a few quick questions, I ended up fielding around 15 inquiries and it seemed never-ending. I remained courteous and mentioned I needed to cut the conversation short, as it was taking much longer than expected. However, I was met with a rather aggressive "No, don’t hang up! I'm still asking questions!" during that call. The next time they rang, I clearly stated that I wished to opt out of any further calls, but my request fell on deaf ears! Best not to engage, if you ask me! 😉

These annoying callers from Asia have rang me half a dozen times in the past couple of days. I managed to get through to one today and asked if UK Society was actually a registered company in the UK. He claimed it was. So I asked for their company registration or VAT number. He said he didn’t know, just an employee. I told him to go and find out and call me back.
