Got a call from an automated robotic voice pretending to be my bank, saying there were odd transactions on my account - like £300 spent on Amazon. Hung up straight away and blocked the number. Definitely a scam!

Seems like whoever called me didn’t have a clue about how banks really work.

There’s a programme about scams showing on one of the main TV stations, usually Monday nights, though I hear it’s ending soon. Can’t say the name coz some tech stops me, but it’s something like Auntie Beeb 1 with their catch-up service, eyePlayer. The show’s about ethical hackers who get into the scammers’ systems while these scams are happening and try to shut them down. Really worth a watch if you’ve got online banking or shop a lot on Amazon. If you get scam texts, send a report to 7726.
