I received one of those annoying calls claiming that I was in an accident. I directly asked the young lady on the line to clarify which organisation she was calling from, and then pressed her on who had informed her about this supposed mishap. Not surprisingly, she hung up on me straight away. I've had run-ins with similar calls before, and I’ve found that informing them that their so-called knowledge about an accident could breach data protection laws tends to make them terminate the conversation quite rapidly!
