I usually ignore calls from numbers I dont recognise but this time I picked up... ended up letting them yak away while I watched the snooker... straight to block.

I went ahead and blocked and declined the call before even coming here to comment. TBH, I can't recall the last time an unknown number that wasn't saved in my contacts actually turned out to be a legit call, it’s been ages. So now I just figure all those calls from unknown numbers are pointless spam or some kind of scam. I just don’t pick up anymore. Be careful out there.

I went ahead and blocked and declined the call before even leaving a comment. Honestly, I can't recall the last time a call from a number I didn't know wasn't just spam or some annoying nuisance. Had a call from some people claiming to be #### immigrants from Ashford. Not sure what it was about, but it felt a bit off to me. Strange timing too, dunno if it's legit or just another scam. Just a heads up to be careful if you get anything similar.

Everytime I get calls from numbers I never shared, I tell them straight up that what they’re doing is against the law. There are proper data protection laws in the UK and worldwide, even if it feels like no one really enforces them. Still, those folks who get paid to cold call and try to get info from us ought to know their actions are actually illegal.

When I asked why he was ringing, cos it was obvious spam, and said I wasn’t going to fall for any of his dodgy questions, he got proper mad and told me I was spoiling it for honest folks trying to make a living. Sounded like he was just reading off a script from a call centre. Ended the call and blocked him straight away. Proper sneaky ones these lot! Watch out, people.
