Earlier today, I received a rather dubious call from someone claiming to be with Amazon. He requested that I hit 1 on my answering machine. Apparently, doing so would supposedly confirm my continuation of the Prime membership. It’s quite clear, though, that this is a scam!

Just heard back about 01233647157 - turns out it’s definitely not Amazon calling. They said they only get in touch by email if there’s any issue. They’ve already sent the info over to their cyber security team to look into it.

Got a call today from 01233647157, left a message on my voicemail saying that my Amazon account was hacked and £99 was taken from my card, asking me to press 1. I checked my bank and there’s no such transaction, so pretty clear it was a scam. I’ve reported it to the Action Fraud cybercrime team now.
