I received a message claiming my debit card had been used overseas. They threatened that if I didn’t click on their link, my card would get blocked. Honestly, no bank would ever send out a message like that!

Hi, I’m Matthew Allen from Ashford Glass Supplies, we’re a small glazing repair business based in Ashford, Kent. Our number 01233633775 has been tampered with by scammers recently. We’ve been flooded with countless calls caused by these fraudsters using our contact details. It’s really causing chaos here and making it tough to get any work done in the office. Most of the people calling are elderly, over 65. If you get a call from this number, please don’t pick up and help us warn others about it. Thanks a lot.

I got a call on my home phone from this number. It was some recorded message with a woman speaking in an American accent, saying there were two suspicious charges on my card. Definitely a scam, so just don’t bother answering.

Got a call from an American lady saying my card was charged twice this morning, mentioning one was about £100 and the other was a few grand. I didn’t bother hearing the rest, just blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from some guy with a weird accent claiming to be from Visa. He started with “thanks for calling Visa,” and I had to point out that it was actually him who dialled me. I noticed he’d ditched the usual Amazon bit this time, which I thought was clever. Just as I was about to hang up, I swear I heard him mutter “smart b*****d” before cutting off. Proper dodgy.

This number has been blocked now. We’re on the TPS list too. I got a call from a woman with a robotic voice saying she was from the bank’s fraud team but never said which bank exactly. She told me there was a payment of £600 going overseas from my account. I was told my card would get declined if I didn’t respond by pressing 1 or 2 on my phone.
