I received a dodgy call from someone claiming to be from O2, trying to lure me in with a supposed 40% discount on my existing plan. They mentioned it was a special offer because of my loyalty as a customer. Just a heads up-don't fall for it!

Be careful if you get a call from someone who sounds Indian, they can make it look like it’s coming from a UK number on your phone. Sometimes they even put fake messages on your screen, pretending to be from your bank. Legitimate people usually just leave a voicemail if it’s important, so you can call back. Honestly, if more people ignored calls from unknown numbers, these dodgy companies might stop pestering us so much.

They're pretending to be from O2.

Got a call from O2 but it was a scam, so I blocked the number straight away.

This call wasn't from EE, it was actually from Three. I get calls like this all the time since I switched to EE a while back but used to be with Three for years. I left Three because their signal was rubbish where I live, but they didn't want to let me go and kept trying sneaky tricks to keep me as a customer. I’ve told them loads of times to stop calling and take me off their list, but they just keep ringing anyway. Looks like this number’s getting blocked next.

Answered the call and there was complete silence, then suddenly everything just disconnected...

Got a call from someone claiming to be EE, offering half price off my bill. The number didn't look legit or like the normal EE ones I know, so I told them I'd ring up EE directly on a proper customer service number if I wanted to talk about bills. They ended the call straight away after that. Feels like a scam to me from how it went down.

I've had calls from what sounds like a call centre in India, and they've rang me three separate times, each time acting like they were from a different business.

I couldn’t make out what the guy was saying, except I caught something about EE. When I told him I’m signed up with the TPS, he didn’t say sorry or anything - he just dropped the call straight away, which is what legit cold callers usually do since they know they shouldn’t be phoning you.

Got a call from a bloke who sounded Indian, didn’t really wanna share anything with him coz I told him I don’t take those dodgy calls. Just hung up and blocked the number, said it was from Ashford, Kent.

Got a call from 01233542828 claiming to be from EE offering some sort of discount on my phone bill. They wanted to know how much I was currently paying. I told them I'd ring EE direct to check if it was legit, then ended the call. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

The person claimed they were ringing from Currys. When I asked why they’d bother calling me since I haven’t bought anything from Currys in ages, they just kind of fumbled and didn’t really know what to say, probably because they weren’t following a script. Voice sounded a bit Asian. The number showed an Ashford, Kent area code on my caller ID.

Got a call from a guy, sounded Asian, saying he was from ‘EE’. He tried telling me he could sort my phone contract for half the price and keep my number the same. Total load of rubbish really, especially since I just renewed my contract last week. Pretty obvious it was a scam.

Someone rang saying they were from EE and could give me half off my phone bill... When I asked them how they knew how much I was paying, I just said nah, cheers and they ended the call straight away :D Honestly, how can they offer a discount when they don’t even know my current payments? Blocked them instantly!!
