Picked up the phone and the caller just hung up straight away. It’s so frustrating how these businesses bother you but won’t even stay on the line for a quick chat. Such a waste of time.

I encountered a chap with a rather questionable grasp of the English language. He claimed to represent O2, but I wasn't buying it for a second. He dangled the prospect of a discount in front of me, yet it became abundantly clear that his real intent was to fish for my account information.

Just got a call from this number, so I looked it up here while we were talking and the woman sounded proper annoyed. She was pushing a 30% discount on the next O2 bill. When I asked if she also worked with other providers, she insisted it was only O2. I then told her lots of folks have reported her doing scams for EE, banks, and utility firms. She sounded surprised and asked how I knew that. I said it's easy, people can just check online and their number’s flagged all over. Told her to stop bothering me and quit trying to scam people.

Got a call where no one said a word, just silence on the other end. Pretty sure it’s some kind of scam or just checking if the number’s live for dodgy callers.

For the past few weeks, this bloke keeps ringing me from different phone numbers, claiming to be from Vodafone’s promotions team. He’s always pushing some supposed deal to slash my phone bill if I sign up straight away, and even promises a new phone the next day. Knowing it was dodgy, I decided to waste his time a bit. When I said I wasn’t interested, he tried asking for my husband’s mobile number to offer him a deal as well! I went along and said my husband (who doesn’t actually exist) didn’t want it either. Then he got quite pushy, asking for my bank details. When I finally told him I knew he wasn’t really with Vodafone, he said fine, he’d just cancel my contract or something… I hope this helps others spot these scare tactics - either ignore unknown calls or double-check if the number is legit before giving away any info.

This number rang me nonstop, about five times today. I finally picked up on the last call and decided to have a bit of fun. I made up a bogus email and when he asked me to read it aloud, I said I couldn't since it ended up in my spam folder. Suddenly, he started cursing at me, accusing me of being some sort of con artist.
