I told him I wasn’t interested and his reply was just “f*** off then”. Proper rude!Carphone Warehouse4 yearsLoads of random numbers calling me recently, didn’t answer this one ‘cause I didn’t know who it was. Been happening quite a bit the last few days!4 yearsI received a call purporting to be from Virgin Mobile, discussing our existing contract. However, when I began to push back and probe further with my questions, the tone of the caller shifted drastically from friendly to quite confrontational. In the end, I decided to block the number.Virgin Mobile4 yearsTotal rip off!4 yearsGot a random call about some Vodafone phone deal I never asked for.Vodafone4 yearsI just stayed quiet and ended up cutting the call.4 yearsThey claimed to be ringing from Virgin Mobile. I asked them if they had my customer reference number. Unsurprisingly, they didn’t. So I just nicely told them to get lost.Virgin Mobile4 yearsJust ignore and BLOCK them. They’re crooks who have some auto computer thingy scanning the web for phone numbers posted on legit stuff like social media or Gumtree. Then their call centre in India gets alerted and rings you up with dodgy car crash scams and the like. They tend to ring several times back to back, often from different numbers that look UK but are definitely not genuine. So if your phone buzzes shortly after you put your number online, don’t pick up - just block straight away!Gumtree4 yearsSomebody rang me from a number I didn’t recognise, but they never said who they were. No clue who it might be.4 yearsAt first, I didn’t say anything so there was no reply. Then a voice with an accent said something about calling from Currys?? I had a hunch it was a scam since they said they were from a phone firm. So, I acted like I was from a different company and asked if they wanted to set up a meeting, and that’s when they told me to basically go away in a not very polite way!4 yearsSounds like one of those dodgy American robot voices saying "Smart Compare" or something. Definitely gives off that scammy energy.4 yearsA caller pretending to be from my mobile company got in touch saying I was picked by Head Office for a special discount. They sent me a text straight away, without even asking for my name first. After checking online, it was clear from the messages it was a scam. I told them I couldn't get any discount because my partner already works there (which is true). Then they started pushing me to buy AirPods and upgrade my plan. They were super persistent. I've now made sure this number is definitely linked to a scam.Head Office4 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were from O2 telling me I was eligible for an upgrade. They wanted a code they said was sent to me to check my details, then went on to ask some security questions. They even managed to change my O2 password, but I got suspicious when they asked for my billing address. Turns out this "reyan" had added an iPhone 14 to my basket. When I asked to speak to their manager, the same guy just switched up his accent a bit and said he was "Ryan." The phone was supposedly being sent to an address in Slough, Berkshire, and the number used was 03448090202. Watch out for this one!RyanSloughBerkshireSubmit Your Own Report (01233 542403)
