01233542319 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01233542319 👆 is reported as a persistent scam operation originating largely from abroad, often India, where callers impersonate major UK network providers such as O2, EE, Vodafone, and well-known retailers like Currys PC World. These calls commonly offer false discounts or contract upgrades, frequently requesting sensitive information like card or one-time codes. The lines are usually noisy and unclear, sometimes disconnected abruptly when questioned. Many calls are preceded by silent calls to verify active numbers for targeting. Victims are urged to report all such scam attempts directly to official police fraud agencies, particularly via government websites, to aid law enforcement in tackling these widespread fraudulent schemes. Blocking or TPS registration offers limited protection, as scammers endlessly cycle through spoofed numbers. Vigilance and prompt reporting are the best defences.

I received a rather dodgy offer claiming to be from O2 about some discounts, and they had quite a bit of my personal information which they wanted me to verify. I've flagged it with O2. They were incredibly relentless in their pursuit.

I received a call from a network that seemed to be affiliated with Vodafone, but it was quite baffling. The person on the other end sounded like they were breathing heavily, and the audio quality was dreadful-extremely muffled and full of static. The moment I pressed them about the poor connection, the call abruptly dropped. Shocking lack of professionalism!

A bit of a coincidence with that 'orange' message below. Honestly, I can’t stand when crooks take advantage of people who are easy targets, it just stirs up trouble everywhere. I left 5 messages (not 6) on this thread where I go into detail about why it’s important to report these scam attempts and share some tips on how to protect yourself from con artists.

Received a call yesterday and again today at around 8:40 in the morning purporting to be from EE, suggesting they had a special discount for my bill. They requested my card details to perform a credit check! Definitely a scam!

I received a rather irritating call from a bustling call centre, and the line quality was dreadful. This came right on the heels of two previous calls where there was nothing but silence from other mysterious numbers. I suspect those silent calls were likely automated attempts to gauge if someone would pick up. If so, it's safe to assume that they mark that number as legitimate and send it on to the call centre for their eager agents to pounce on. Quite the nuisance, if you ask me!

I received a call from someone claiming to be from O2, suggesting that he could reduce my existing plan with them. Instinctively, I thought it was a scam and informed him that I was actually with EE. As soon as I said that, the line went dead.

I got a call supposedly about my mobile network. When I asked the caller which network they meant, they admitted they didn’t actually know. Then, when I pressed them on why they were even calling about something they had no info on, they just ended the call. Proper odd behaviour if you ask me.

Someone rang saying it was about my O2 bill, but I don’t even have one! Definitely sounds dodgy to me.

Someone rang me pretending to be from O2. I’m not an O2 customer, so clearly it was just spam!

Got a call from a man with a foreign accent trying to offer an update on my EE phone contract. I told him I wasn’t interested, especially since I got scammed last Christmas doing something similar. There was loads of background noise like squeaking too, really dodgy.

Got calls from this 4 times over the last 2 days. I just ended it straight away when I picked up, but could hear some sort of noise or chatter in the background. Definitely seems like spam to me.

They've said they're calling from Vodafone Networks, but it's quite clear this is a call centre based in India.

I received a call from someone purporting to be with O2, offering me a discount on my existing plan, which was curious since I’m indeed an O2 customer. The accents of both callers gave away that it was an overseas connection, most likely from India. Quite the strange encounter!

I picked up the phone and enthusiastically shouted, 'Make me a winner!' thinking it might be those lovely folks at Greatest Hits Radio ringing with a delightful cash prize. Alas, all I got was a deafening silence followed by the unmistakable beep of a disconnection. I can only imagine some pesky telemarketer is having a right chuckle about it as I sit here typing. But hey, that's life, isn't it? You win some, you lose some!
