So, the number showed up as O2, right? But when I called to check my monthly bill, they had no clue how much I was paying and just started throwing numbers out. I wasn’t having it, told them off proper while I was still trying to find the number online.

Some bloke with an Indian accent kept saying something like 'Ackroyd', but I couldn’t really get what he was on about. I just told him he’d messd up and rang the wrong person, then ended the call.

I got a call saying I’d won some free upgrade from EE and they started asking me how much I pay on my plan every month. I said, “Surely you’d have that info if you really work for EE?” and just like that, they cut off the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be O2 trying to sell me a discounted upgrade. It’s definitely a scam, so just hang up straight away. Don’t share any info with them, especially if they ask for an authorisation code - that’s a big red flag. These scammers sometimes try to figure out which network your number is from based on where you first had it. So, they might pretend to be from a different provider than the one you’re actually with now. For example, if you switched your number from O2 to Vodafone, they might still say they’re O2 even though your account is now with Vodafone. It’s pretty sneaky and can easily confuse people.
