I’ll be honest, I first assumed it was some kind of scam, but turns out it’s legit. The number belongs to the NHS out of hours service. They rang me to check if I could make it down to the hospital to see an out of hours doctor. I said no ’cause I don’t have a car. They said don’t stress, the doctor would ring me instead. Sure enough, I got a call about 7.30 in the evening. Now I’m on the phone to my GP practice booking a proper appointment.

Really weird experience. Some guy rang me claiming to be from 111 and mentioned a health thing that happened earlier today. His accent was kind of hard to understand and sounded Asian, so I got suspicious pretty quick. I only shared a little info before catching on and cutting the call short. Ignored the first couple of calls, but on the third one, a woman told me to head to Thurrock hospital. She said I had called 111, which I hadn’t, but she didn’t seem to believe me. Then shortly after, a bloke rang saying my blood test results were out and my kidneys weren’t doing well, asking if I could go hospital that evening. Thing is, I hadn’t had any blood test that day like he claimed, so he started doubting if I was all there mentally. Feels dodgy for sure and has caused me loads of unnecessary worry.

I answered their questions and was satisfied it was legit.

At 05:52 in the morning on a peaceful Sunday, my home telephone was rang by an unknown number. Although I promptly jumped out of bed and rushed downstairs, I unfortunately missed the call. The caller, with an Indian accent, left a confusing message addressed to me. I could hear the faint sound of keyboards clacking in the background.
