Sounds like a total scam to me. They claimed to be MetroBank’s call centre but were really fishing for my personal bank details. Really dodgy.

so annoying when they keep ringing you from different numbers coz they cant get through, all trying to sell you insurance for your stuff at home.

Got a call claiming to be from HMRC telling me to press 1. When I did, an Indian bloke told me I was about to be arrested over tax issues. I asked for his full name and he just said B. N. When I asked where exactly he was calling from, cos it felt dodgy, he just ended the call. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.
