I had two calls within a quarter of an hour from separate individuals claiming that my BT broadband was about to be terminated. I politely expressed my desire for it to be cancelled, then told them where to go. It’s quite clear that my internet service isn’t linked to BT at all!

This morning at half past one I got another one of those dodgy calls, clearly some scam trying its luck. If you’ve got a moment, I find its pretty funny to act all clueless and bungling, messing up their instructions and making them repeat themselves over and over. It’s like dragging things out for ages and winding them up a bit. After I’ve had enough, I usually apologise nicely for taking their time. Today’s little charade gave me a good laugh during my tax paper work, though I ended up with a stiff neck from holding the phone so long, haha.

Yesterday at half past six in the morning, my elderly mum got a call from a woman with an Asian accent telling her to get in front of her computer because she’d guide her through some steps. The thing is, my mum doesn’t own a computer at all! Over the course of the day, the same number rang her three more times. It’s just not right to be hassling someone, especially at such an early hour. My mum was genuinely anxious, thinking maybe it was one of her four kids with some bad news. Honestly, these calls need to be blocked for good.

Had two calls really early, one yesterday and another today, both claiming to be from BT like others have mentioned here before. Today’s call just went to my answerphone with no message, only some weird background sounds. The call from yesterday was from a woman with an Asian accent who said her name was Elana Smith. I told her I was busy sorting out something urgent and she gave me the number 01558883262 to ring her back. Turns out that number’s just a normal one in Wales, nothing suspicious. This morning I got a call from this number, with a bloke speaking in an Asian accent. He claimed my computer had somehow picked up harmful files without me knowing, and that these were messing up BT routers, meaning my internet would be cut off. He offered to sort it out and said he'd guide me through the steps. He then started instructing me on what to do, which was clearly meant to let him access my computer remotely. Eventually, he twigged I wasn’t following his instructions properly and that I was wasting his time, so he ended the call.

This number rang me around 1 in the afternoon, and a woman called Daisy said she was from Nottingham. The call was terrible though, the connection was so poor I could barely make out what she was saying. I was actually a bit keen to have a bit of fun with them since it sounded like one of those dodgy calls, but because of the rubbish line she got annoyed and hung up on me. We're signed up with the TPS, so why do these calls still get through? It's proper frustrating!

At 2:30 today, I noticed a missed call from 01232 133963 when we weren't home. Oddly enough, they rang early Saturday at 7am but the call cut off before I could answer. Got a call saying there were issues with my internet and it was about to be cut off, asking if that was okay. It sounded like a BT call centre based in India, which made me suspicious. The woman then asked if I was near my computer, so I asked if she wanted to access it remotely and how that was supposed to help fix my connection. I told her BT would never ask for that and that she should be ashamed for scamming people like that. I also warned her that if she ever phoned back, I'd track down her and her mates and make sure they regret pulling this rubbish. Absolute nightmare!

When I picked up, there was nothing but a cacophony of sounds in the background, and I could hear a woman’s voice repeating, “Hello, hello.” There wasn’t any proper exchange, so I instructed them not to call me again! Got a call around 10 in the morning from a bloke with an Indian accent who said his name was 'Ryan Harris' and that he was from BT’s tech team in Nottingham. He gave his phone number as 011 5888-2353, which didn’t match up with what showed on our caller ID. Then he threw out another number, 01793-596-931, and started saying our ‘server’ was under attack. He wanted us to visit a certain website so he could guide us through fixing it. We just ended the call right there!

Got a call early today, around 7am on the 21st. I was still in bed so I just let it ring out, no voicemail left or anything. I felt a bit uneasy since usually bad news tends to come early like that. No follow-up calls came through though, so when I woke up, I looked this number up here. Seems these people never seem to consider the time zone differences, calling at such ridiculous hours. I’ve got a call blocker set up so this number’s definitely going on the blacklist.

I told her it sounded very dodgy and asked her full name. She said Daisy Fernandez, but when I asked for a phone number, she gave me a totally made-up one. I then asked if BT would confirm her identity if I called that number, and she just said yes before cutting the call abruptly! Suspicious much?
