This number rang me yesterday at 12:36, but I missed the call.

Got a call from a guy claiming to be with BT tech support. He asked me to look at something right in front of me in a really smug, know-it-all way. Said I had an unstable internet connection - seriously? I said it wasn’t BT, but he insisted it was all about the phone lines. Mentioned I work in IT and run a business that’s passed PCI compliance. When I told him I use a dongle, he got even more condescending. So I told him to just hang up ’cause he was being a total muppet. Had a good giggle with my son afterwards.

I didn’t pick up and no message was left either. It’s weird because this is a new number I’ve only just got, not from BT or anything, and I haven’t shared it with anyone yet! Makes me wonder how they found it.

Got a call from some bloke in India who reckons my computer was hacked and that they can control the whole internet across the UK. Like, seriously? How daft are these people! If no one puts a stop to it, someone’s bound to fall for this rubbish and get scammed.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from BT. He was banging on about all these hackers and spammers, trying to get me to protect my internet. Then he seemed shocked I didn’t own a PC, laptop, tablet or iPhone. After that, he said I couldn’t have internet either, because if he was legit BT, he’d know that already. We went back and forth a bit till he suddenly said he’d cut off my internet for 10 months. Obviously he wasn’t serious, since I’m still online and typing this now.

Got a voicemail from an Indian woman claiming my internet would be disconnected in a day because of some spam calls. She said to press 1 to avoid it and that an engineer would set up a new line. Seemed fishy to me.

Got a call twice from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT. The line was really bad and full of background noise. It felt like a total scam, so I said I didn’t have broadband or a computer and they just hung up on me.

If you’re not good with tech stuff, this could be a right trap - they might trick you into letting them into your wifi or computer. How do these numbers even get assigned? I received a call from someone claiming to be a BT technician. They were quite insistent on having me access my computer, which made me suspicious as it seemed like an attempt to breach my system. I'm pretty sure this individual was calling from India. Be cautious, everyone!

Got two calls today. I just cut off the first straight away. Then, an hour later, got another ring. Could hear loads of noise behind the woman’s voice, sounded Indian. She went on about my BT phone line. I was like, “Not now!” and dropped the call. Thinking maybe next time I’ll say, “This call is being recorded.” see if that puts ’em off.

I got a call from a bloke saying he was with BT about my internet connection. He had a thick Indian accent and sounded a bit dodgy. The number started with 01231, which I don’t think BT uses. Plus, there was loads of noise in the background. I just ended the call straight away when he started asking about my internet.

I got calls from this number a couple times over the last two days. There was a lot of background noise that sounded like an office, but couldn’t really make out what was being said. The voice was pretty muffled too.

Some bloke rang saying he was with BT and told me to press ctrl+r, then type eventvwr into a box. I wasn’t about to fall for it so I quickly made up some excuse and hung up. Anyone knows what they would've tried to do next? Sounds dodgy to me!

Just had a call around midday today, 12th April 2018. The chap on the other end sounded like he had an Asian or possibly Indian accent. He said he was from BT, but there was a lot of background chatter reminiscent of a call centre. I ended the call without engaging further.

I received a call from this number earlier today at 11:15. When I picked up, there was a bit of a pause, almost as if someone was trying to gather their thoughts. Just as I was about to disconnect, I could make out what seemed like a busy call centre with a cacophony of chatter. Not keen on hanging around, I decided to end the call.
