I received an automated call claiming to be from my internet service provider, stating that they’d been trying to reach me regarding my account being involved in some illicit activities. They warned that my internet would be cut off in a day if I didn’t act. Then, a young woman came on the line, expressing gratitude for reaching out, and inquired how she could assist me. I pointed out that she had actually called me, and just like that, she hung up. To the best of my knowledge, BT doesn’t operate a call centre in Millom, so I’m suspicious that this might be a scam.

i got a call saying my internet would be cut off in a day because of some illegal stuff linked to my account. then a young woman popped up thanking me for reaching out and asked what help i needed. i told her she was the one who called me, but she just ended the call. from what i know, bt doesn’t run any call centres in millom, so i'm pretty sure these folks were scammers.
