I just got this automated call from a woman with an American accent saying Amazon was going to charge me £39.99. It told me to press 1 to stop the payment. I didn’t press anything because it sounded dodgy, especially since I don’t have Amazon Prime. Definitely feels like a scam to me.

So I got this robo call warning me my internet would be disconnected in a day or two, and it told me to press 1 if I wanted to chat with someone. I just hung up straight away and ended up blocking the number.

Cheers for the heads up. Lately, there's been more and more phone calls from folks pretending to be Amazon, saying they want to renew your Prime or that your account’s about to get shut down. They seem to use different numbers every time, so blocking one probably won't do much good.

Got a robo call saying my Amazon account got hacked and I’d been hit with a £99.99 charge. It told me to press "1" to fix it - never did that. Looked it up online and even checked with Amazon, and no charges at all. Seems like another new scam to me. Maybe these scammers are getting tired of trying the usual BT customer or tax office tricks. I’m gonna flag this one as risky for sure.
