So, I got a call from someone claiming I needed to pay an extra charge to register my website. They said it was an annual fee, which normally was included in the hosting cost, but now had to be paid on its own. When I told them that nobody actually pays that, they just ended the call straight away. Total scam if you ask me.

What a farce! These jokers were peddling domain names and didn’t even mention the pricing. They had the audacity to claim they’d registered one of my domains, but that’s patently false-I took care of that myself! When I confronted them, they launched straight into a sales pitch, and I had enough of their nonsense and just ended the call.

Complete sham! This lot feigned being representatives from Paragon, a company known for domain name sales - but it was all a ruse!

It seems that there’s a bit of a mix-up with someone claiming to be from the BT group. He suggested that I had supposedly registered a domain with him, which is completely untrue-I'm not aware of any such thing, and when he prompted me to look it up online, I couldn't find a thing. Interestingly, he mentioned that my rival was planning to retire (which isn't the case), and he offered domains for sale. I mean, honestly, my competitor would never part with any domains; they’d stick with the business itself. It’s all just utter balderdash!

What a load of nonsense! They falsely claimed that a rival is hanging up their boots (which is certainly not the case) and had the audacity to say they’ve been representing me for ages (which they definitely haven't). Totally dodgy!

My coworker got a call from someone saying if I didn’t ring them back straight away, they’d pull my website offline. It was from Namesco, I think.

Got a ring from this number claiming to be my web host, but there was music playing in the back like on some dodgy sales call. The guy sounded pretty cheeky and not professional at all. Definitely not my domain provider. I asked him straight up what he wanted and then just hung up.

I had a really unpleasant experience with someone who said they were from 123 Reg. The way they spoke to me was so cheeky and unpleasant, it’s a shock they think anyone would fall for their scam. Honestly, I can’t imagine anyone actually getting tricked by how rude they were!

Absolutely disgraceful behaviour from this chap! Honestly, I struggle to fathom how anyone could fall for their tricks, given the utterly impolite way they approached me. The caller pretended to represent a domain and hosting service, but it was clear they were up to no good. Save yourself the hassle and steer clear of such calls!

What a complete and utter con!

An individual rang me up, claiming that a rival of mine was purportedly retiring and was 'returning' certain web domains. The thing is, I know for a fact that this chap isn't stepping down, and I can’t imagine he’d just abandon such domains unless he was folding the business entirely.

This outfit that phoned me are nothing but duplicitous fraudsters. They attempted to persuade me to shell out £250.00 each for two domains. Whilst I was on the phone, I quickly checked GoDaddy and discovered that both domains were up for grabs at a mere 99p! They even tried to spin a yarn, suggesting my web developer had registered my site through their services and that they were calling to extend a £250.00 'welcome' offer as a new customer. The reality is, my website and developer have absolutely no connection to them whatsoever.

Best to steer clear of these charlatans!

I received a call from someone claiming to be Stephen, who insisted he needed to chat with my Managing Director. Naturally, I inquired about his affiliation, to which he replied he was from Romford. Unsatisfied with just that, I pressed for further details, and he became quite flustered before abruptly terminating the call. It seemed like he was attempting to leverage a connection with my boss to gain access.

Beware of Stephen-he’s operating as a con artist, masquerading as a web hosting provider and soliciting sensitive information. When I called to verify his claims, I was confronted by a brusque and hostile individual who was eerily similar to the descriptions provided by our clients. Best to keep your distance from this one!

I got a call from someone called Stephen who said he was from a different company trying to reach our clients, but it felt off, like a scam. What made it worse was when I reported it - their boss kept calling Stephen horrible names like "faggot lips" over and over, then mentioned he might get the sack. Honestly, they just treated the whole thing like a joke, which was pretty disrespectful.

I found myself trying to get in touch with a colleague, but they insisted on speaking with someone else instead. They mentioned they could simply take their business elsewhere to sort it out. So, I replied, "Fine by me, off you pop then!" And just like that, they ended the call. How rude!

What a right charmer! This bloke had the audacity to claim he had an appointment with us, but it turned out he was completely fibbing. When I attempted to sort things out with him, he turned rather unpleasant and just cut the call, scrapping his nonexistent “appointment.” If you try calling the number back, you’re met with voicemail. Oh, and he had the cheek not to reveal his name, even after I asked him multiple times!

I received a rather dodgy phone call attempting to peddle domain names that supposedly relate to my business. The caller was exceedingly impolite when I questioned their offer.

I had a chap ring me offering three URLs for £200 a pop, but he couldn’t seem to keep the conversation straight for even half a minute. Totally dodgy, claiming to be with Yell. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!
