There's no way that's from HMRC. They never ring and drop voice messages. They usually send letters, and they certainly wouldn't threaten you with criminal charges. Owing money to HMRC is dealt with as a civil issue, not a criminal one.

Got a call from some spammer asking for my details and started going on about legal action if I don’t comply. Proper annoying!

Got a call saying I was being taken to court. Some Asian guy picked up and wanted me to confirm my name. I asked him to say my name first, but he just told me not to stress and to get my lawyer involved. Then he said they’d carry on without me! Total rubbish if you ask me.

Got a call but nobody picked up. Pretty sure it was one of those scam numbers, so I just blocked it straight away.

I got a robo call claiming some letter from HMRC came back undelivered and they were gonna start legal action. Then it gave me choices on the keypad, probably to "sort out the fine." The call didn’t have any real info from HMRC, so it smelt like a scam. I tried calling the number back, which said it was from Barrow-in-Furness, but it just wouldn’t connect. HMRC won’t ever ring you up - best to just ignore these scams.

Got a call from an automated voice that sounded American, saying I was in some kind of trouble with customs and excise. Then they put me through to a guy with an Asian accent. I just told him he’d made a mistake and ended the call. Totally seems like a scam to me.
