Blimey, I really skirted disaster today! I picked up an automated call claiming I was due a substantial payment via my credit card. They kept urging me to press 1 to speak to a representative. Naturally, I went along with it and ended up chatting to some operator who started probing me for my credit card info to 'finalise the transaction.' Total con job!!!!

Got a robo-call saying there was a charge on my credit card, and it told me to call them back if I hadn’t made it. Looks like one of those scam attempts to me, probably trying to pull a fast one.

While I was chatting on my mobile here in Canada, I noticed a missed call from a number showing up as from Carlisle. Since I don’t have any contacts in northern England, I figured it must’ve been a misdial. It’s really worrying that these scams are spreading, now even crossing borders and targeting people overseas.
