Today at 10.04 I got a call from 01228270623, and it was a recorded message claiming to be ‘TalkTalk’ telling me my line would be cut off today, with an option to press 1 to speak to them. No way was I falling for that. The number seems to be linked to Carlisle, apparently. Earlier, at 09.36, I had a similar call from a Midlands number, a Birmingham one, with exactly the same spiel. These numbers supposedly from TalkTalk have never flagged before and come up as neutral, so I suspect these con artists are snapping up old, unused landlines to run their scams.
